Our History
IPS CRANES began operation in 1988 when a group of employees from American Hoist combined their talents and established a small company called IPS. Their vision was to provide the crane industry with top quality replacement parts and services in a quick and efficient manner.
In December 2001, IPS CRANES purchased the American and Ohio Locomotive Crane assets of Ohio Industries. These assets consisted of inventory, patterns, engineering/manufacturing drawings, material specifications, crane records, and other information essential to the manufacture and supply of American and Ohio Locomotive Cranes, their service parts, and technical support. This purchase made IPS an OEM and be able to provide a full line of products and services.
Today, IPS continues to add to its capabilities by designing and manufacturing specialized equipment for the mobile crane industry, as well as innovative redesign of existing equipment.
